Specifications side by side

American Hydro Spa Hot Tubs Compared

The lineup splits into standard spas and swim models. The Platinum XL Plus Trio and Bench offer rectangular shapes for groups. The Cub 79-inch and Cub fit smaller patios with compact footprints. These options suit buyers prioritizing space efficiency or standard seating arrangements.

Swim spas dominate the larger category. The Oasis and Dual Zone units provide extended lengths for swimming and soaking. These heavy units require significant floor support. The Lounge variant adds reclining space within the standard spa form. You should match your available square footage to the specific dimensions listed for each model.

Where American Hydro Spa Fits

This brand covers a wide size range, from compact 79-inch circular tubs to 233-inch swim spas. You can choose between standard rectangular shapes for group seating or dedicated lounge models. Colors are limited to white and brown finishes. The lineup includes both soaking spas and swim options for fitness. However, none of the listed models feature circular designs other than the Cub series, and there are no corner units or small two-person options available. If you need a tight corner fit or a very small footprint, this range may not suit your space.

How to Choose the Right American Hydro Spa

1. Match Shape to Deck

You must measure your outdoor area before buying. The Platinum XL Plus Trio measures 87 by 65 inches and fits standard rectangular decks. The Cub 79-inch model is circular and works for tighter spots. If you have a large yard, the Platinum XL Plus Bench offers a square 91 by 91-inch footprint. Check your available space first. A tub that is too large will not fit through gates or on patios. Measure the width and length carefully. Ensure you have clearance for maintenance access around the unit. Proper sizing prevents installation headaches later.

2. Consider Seating Capacity

Decide how many people will use the tub regularly. The Platinum XL Plus Bench seats six people comfortably. The Cub 79-inch is better for solo users or couples. The Platinum XL Plus Lounge seats five people but prioritizes reclining space over upright seating. Think about your typical usage. If you host groups often, choose a model with more seats. If you prefer quiet relaxation, a smaller tub may suit you better. Capacity affects the water volume and heating requirements. Select the size that matches your social habits and family needs.

3. Evaluate Swim Spa Needs

Swim spas require significant space and structural support. The Oasis Swim Spa is 146 inches long and weighs 1344 pounds empty. The Dual Zone Swim Spa is even larger at 233 inches long. You need a solid foundation to support this weight. These units combine swimming jets with soaking areas. They are ideal for fitness and relaxation in one unit. However, they demand ample outdoor space. Verify your deck or patio can hold the weight. Check local building codes for large installations. These models are for buyers with serious space and budget.

4. Check Height for Access

Tub height affects how easily you enter and exit. The Cub 79-inch model is 76 inches tall, which is quite high. This may require steps for safe access. Most other models are between 34 and 37 inches tall. The Platinum XL Plus Trio is 34 inches high. The Dual Zone Swim Spa is 59 inches high. Consider your mobility and comfort. Higher tubs may be difficult for some users. Lower tubs are easier to step into. Measure the height against your patio level. Ensure you have safe access without tripping hazards. Height impacts daily usability significantly.

5. Select Color and Finish

Color choices are limited to white and brown. The Platinum XL Plus Trio and Lounge are white. The Platinum XL Plus Bench is brown. The Oasis Swim Spa and Dual Zone Swim Spa are white. The Cub 79-inch is not listed with a color. The standard Cub is white. Consider how the color fits your outdoor decor. White blends with most modern settings. Brown offers a warmer tone. Finish durability matters for outdoor exposure. Choose a color that matches your patio furniture. Aesthetic consistency improves the overall look. Check the available options for your selected model. Color is a simple but important visual decision.
