Who it fits
Good fit for
This swim spa suits buyers with large yards who want a dedicated fitness and relaxation zone. The 146-inch length allows for swimming against a current. The 89-inch width provides enough room for lounging. If you have the space and a reinforced deck to support the 1344-pound weight, this model fits your needs. It is ideal for those prioritizing physical activity alongside spa features. The white finish blends well with modern outdoor decor. Ensure you have the structural capacity for this substantial unit.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you have limited patio space. The 146 x 89 x 47-inch footprint is large. You need a flat, stable surface to support the 1344-pound weight. Small balconies or standard decks may not hold this load. If you prefer a compact hot tub for two people, this swim spa is too big. The white color may show dirt more easily than darker shades. Consider a smaller model if space or structural support is a concern. This unit requires significant planning and preparation for installation.
Verdict: The American Hydro Spa Oasis is a large, heavy swim spa built for fitness and relaxation. It requires ample space and a strong foundation to support its weight.
Key specs explained
Length: 146 inches
This length defines the total space required for installation. You need a flat area at least twelve feet long to accommodate the unit. This dimension supports swimming motions and provides room for lounging. Compare this to standard hot tubs, which are often shorter. Ensure your outdoor space can handle this linear footprint before purchasing.
Width: 89 inches
The width determines how much lateral space the spa occupies. At nearly seven feet wide, it offers ample room for multiple users to sit side by side. This width supports the fitness and relaxation features mentioned in the listing. Check your deck or patio dimensions to ensure this width fits comfortably without blocking walkways or access points.
Height: 47 inches
This height indicates the vertical profile of the spa shell. It is standard for easy entry and exit without excessive bending or climbing. This dimension affects water volume and seating comfort. When comparing models, note that taller units may require more clearance above for covers or nearby structures. Verify this height fits your planned location.
Weight: 1344 pounds
This weight reflects the dry mass of the unit. Once filled with water, the total weight increases significantly. You must ensure your deck or foundation can support this substantial load. This specification is critical for structural safety. Compare this weight with other swim spas to gauge the reinforcement needed for your installation site.
Design and Build Specs
According to the listing, this unit weighs 1344 pounds. That mass provides stability for your body in the water. It also means you need a solid, level surface. You should plan for a reinforced deck or a concrete pad. The weight helps keep the structure steady during use, but it also dictates how you move it into place. You cannot roll this unit easily.
The exterior finish is white. This color choice affects how the unit looks in your outdoor space. White surfaces can show dirt or weathering more quickly than darker shades. You will need to clean the shell regularly to maintain that look. The model number is OAS. This identifies the specific build style from American Hydro Spa.
The layout is defined by its dimensions. The length is 146 inches, the width is 89 inches, and the height is 47 inches. This footprint requires a significant amount of yard space. You must measure your patio or garden area before installation. The height allows for comfortable entry and exit without bending too low. These physical specs determine where the spa fits in your home environment. You need to ensure your chosen spot can support this size and weight.
Setup and Everyday Use
Setup requires careful planning due to the unit’s substantial size and weight. The listing specifies dimensions of 146 inches in length, 89 inches in width, and 47 inches in height. You must ensure your installation site can accommodate this footprint. The unit weighs 1344 pounds when empty. This mass demands a foundation capable of supporting heavy loads, such as a reinforced concrete pad or a structurally sound deck. The height of 47 inches is standard for easy entry and exit, but you should verify clearance around the unit for maintenance access. The white color is a surface specification that may require specific cleaning agents to maintain its appearance over time. Daily use centers on the dual purpose of relaxation and fitness. The 146-inch length allows for swimming motions, distinguishing it from stationary spas. You can use the current for resistance training or simply float for rest. The 89-inch width provides ample space for multiple users or for turning while swimming. The 47-inch depth supports full submersion for hydrotherapy benefits. Since the listing highlights fitness opportunities, you might use the water resistance for low-impact exercise. The large dimensions mean you will need sufficient space for the unit itself and for surrounding movement. Ensure your power supply meets the electrical requirements for a unit of this scale. The model OAS is designed for outdoor use, so consider weather protection for the components during off-seasons. The white exterior will reflect sunlight, which may affect water temperature in direct sun. Plan your routine around the space needed for entry and exit. The weight ensures stability, so you do not need to worry about the unit shifting during use. Keep the area clear for safe access.
Site Prep And Electrical Needs
Before adding the American Hydro Spa Oasis Swim Spa to your outdoor space, you must verify site readiness. This unit measures 146 inches long and weighs 1344 pounds. You need a reinforced concrete pad or heavy-duty deck that meets local load-bearing codes. Standard wooden decks often fail under this stress. You also need a dedicated electrical circuit. Swim spas draw significant power for jets and pumps. Check your home’s panel capacity before installation. Upkeep involves regular water chemistry balancing. The large volume requires more chemicals than smaller tubs. You will need a reliable filtration system and testing strips. This model sits apart from standard hot tubs due to its swim current. It suits those wanting fitness alongside relaxation. Compare it against other options by checking jet count and heater wattage. Ensure your space allows for the 89-inch width clearance for maintenance access.
