How to choose the right framed pool
-
Check pool shape
Select a shape that matches your yard's geometry. Round pools, such as the Intex Prism 20ft Round, maximize water volume within a circular footprint. Rectangular options like the Evajoy 32ft x 16ft provide distinct swimming lanes for wider spaces. Oval models, including the Intex 20ft x 10ft Prism Oval, offer a middle ground with ample length. Verify the dimensions fit your available area before purchasing to ensure proper placement and clearance.
-
Verify height specs
Pool height determines water depth and structural stability. Most models in this guide stand 48 inches tall, providing standard swimming depth. The Intex Prism 20ft Round Set and the Evajoy 32ft Rectangular Pool both reach 52 inches, offering deeper water for more robust swimming. Taller frames may require a more level base. Check the height specification to ensure it meets your comfort and safety requirements for your intended use.
-
Assess material quality
Frame material affects durability and rust resistance. The Intex Prism series features rust-resistant joints, which is critical for outdoor longevity. The Evajoy 32ft Rectangular Pool utilizes PVC materials for its structure, adding to its robust stability. Steel Pro MAX models from Bestway also offer reliable construction. Inspect the material specifications to ensure the pool can withstand local weather conditions and maintain structural integrity over time without corroding.
-
Review included features
Look for complete sets that include essential accessories. All listed pools come with a pool cover, filter pump, and ladder, reducing additional setup costs. The Evajoy 32ft Rectangular Pool further includes a sand filter pump, which may offer different filtration benefits. Ensure the included filter pump matches your pool size for effective water circulation. Checking these features helps you understand what is ready for immediate use upon assembly.
-
Consider weight capacity
Heavier pools often indicate more substantial materials and construction. The Intex 20ft x 10ft Prism Oval weighs 277 pounds, while the Intex Prism 20ft Round Set is 251 pounds. Lighter options like the Bestway Steel Pro MAX 15ft Pool weigh 128 pounds. Heavier units may be more stable but harder to move. Compare the weight specifications to gauge the build quality and ensure your ground can support the filled pool's load.
