6 Best Alternatives to the Boohugger Bamboo Outdoor Shower (2026)

How these alternatives compare

Choosilay Solid Wood Outdoor Shower Enclosure

The Choosilay Solid Wood Outdoor Shower Enclosure shifts focus from a simple rinse station to a private changing space. At 84.6 inches tall, it is slightly taller than the Boohugger’s 7-foot frame. It weighs 88 pounds, making it a permanent fixture rather than a portable unit. You gain enclosed privacy and security, which the open bamboo design lacks. However, you lose the dual spray options and the lightweight, natural aesthetic. This option suits homeowners who need a secure area for changing clothes or showering discreetly. It is best for those who prioritize durability and enclosure over easy mobility and open-air rinsing.

Outsunny 7ft Solar Heated Shower

The Outsunny 7ft Solar Heated Shower replaces the manual valve and bamboo construction with a plastic frame and solar heating. It matches the Boohugger’s 7-foot height but weighs only 17.8 pounds, offering easier mobility. You get a rotating shower head and solar-heated water, eliminating the need for plumbing or electricity. This is a significant upgrade for users who want warm water without installing pipes. However, you give up the natural bamboo look and the handheld spray option. It is ideal for poolside users who want a low-maintenance, energy-efficient rinse station that heats water using sunlight rather than relying on manual flow control.

Outsunny 10.6-Gallon Solar Heated Shower

The Outsunny 10.6-Gallon Solar Heated Shower offers a compact, solar-heated solution that differs greatly from the Boohugger’s continuous flow system. It stands 85.5 inches tall, similar to the 7-foot Boohugger. You get a dedicated tank for heated water, which is useful for quick rinses after swimming or beach visits. The unit weighs 23.3 pounds, making it portable but less stable than the heavier bamboo structure. You lose the rain shower head and the ability to connect a garden hose for continuous water. This choice fits users who prioritize energy efficiency and compact design over a full-body shower experience with constant water supply.

vidaXL Black Poly Rattan Outdoor Shower

The vidaXL Black Poly Rattan Outdoor Shower provides a sturdy, rustic aesthetic with a poly rattan and steel build. It reaches 95.1 inches, making it taller than the Boohugger’s 7-foot frame. Weighing 51.6 pounds, it is heavier and more permanent than the lightweight bamboo option. You get a durable, weather-resistant structure that fits well in poolside settings. However, it offers only a simple top spray, lacking the dual rain and handheld options of the Boohugger. This product is best for users who want a stylish, long-lasting rinse station with a modern, rustic look. It sacrifices the natural bamboo texture and versatile spray modes for enhanced durability and visual appeal.

Tidyard 7ft Solar PVC Outdoor Shower

The Tidyard 7ft Solar PVC Outdoor Shower is a lightweight, portable option designed for sunny spots. It matches the Boohugger’s 7-foot height but weighs only 6.6 pounds, making it easy to move. You get solar-heated water and an adjustable height feature, which the Boohugger lacks. The PVC material offers durability without the maintenance of natural bamboo. However, you give up the rain shower head and the premium feel of handmade bamboo. This choice suits users who prioritize portability and solar efficiency over capacity and aesthetic quality. It is ideal for solo rinses in backyard or garden settings where easy setup and lightweight design are more important than a full shower experience.

Papababe 16-Gallon Solar Outdoor Shower

The Papababe 16-Gallon Solar Outdoor Shower provides a complete rinsing system with a dedicated foot wash feature. It stands 79 inches tall, slightly shorter than the Boohugger’s 7-foot frame. The 16-gallon tank allows for a longer rinse session than the continuous flow of the Boohugger. You get solar-heated water and durable construction suitable for poolside or garden use. However, you lose the natural bamboo look and the dual spray options. This product is best for users who need a reliable, solar-heated option for extended rinsing or cleaning tasks. It sacrifices the aesthetic appeal and versatile spray modes for a practical, tank-based system with added functionality.
