How the Alternatives Compare
Bestway Steel Pro MAX 14' x 33" Round Pool
The Bestway Steel Pro MAX shifts from a rectangular footprint to a round design with a 14-foot diameter. You gain a slightly lighter structure at 78 pounds compared to the Intex’s 85.6 pounds. The steel frame offers corrosion resistance, which differs from the Intex rust-resistant metal. You trade the 1,883-gallon capacity for a smaller volume suitable for smaller groups. The 33-inch height matches the Intex. This option suits buyers who prioritize quick assembly and a compact round shape over a large rectangular swimming area.
Intex Prism Frame 16ft Rectangular Pool
The Intex Prism Frame expands your swimming space significantly with a 16-foot by 8-foot footprint. You gain a taller 42-inch wall compared to the Intex 14’9” model’s 33-inch height. The weight increases to 160 pounds, reflecting the larger structure and included filter pump. You get a more spacious rectangular area for serious swimming. The model number is 26791EH. This choice fits those who need maximum surface area and do not mind the extra weight and larger installation space compared to the standard Intex rectangular pool.
SunSwell 18ft x 9ft Rectangular Frame Pool
The SunSwell model offers a massive 18-foot by 9-foot rectangular area, significantly larger than the Intex 14’9” x 7’3” dimensions. You gain a 47.2-inch height, providing deeper water for swimming laps. The structure weighs 100 pounds and includes a ladder and filter pump. You trade the Intex’s 1,883 gallons for a much higher volume capacity. This pool is designed for families needing maximum space. It fits buyers who prioritize large rectangular swimming zones and deeper water over the more compact footprint of the Intex 14’9” model.
Bestway APX 365 20' x 52" Pool Set
The Bestway APX 365 is a large 20-foot round pool with a 52-inch height. You gain a galvanized steel frame and a sand filter pump, which differs from the Intex’s cartridge-style pump. The weight jumps to 292 pounds, indicating a heavy-duty construction. You trade the rectangular shape for a round one and gain substantial water volume. This option suits serious swimmers who need a large diameter and robust sand filtration. It is not a direct shape match but offers a premium filtration system and greater capacity for backyard swimming.
Bestway Steel Pro MAX 12' x 30" Pool Set
The Bestway Steel Pro MAX 12-foot model is a compact alternative to the Intex 14’9” pool. You gain a much smaller 12-foot by 30-inch footprint, ideal for limited yard space. The weight is only 30 pounds, making it far easier to handle than the 85.6-pound Intex. You lose significant water capacity and surface area. The 30-inch height is slightly lower than the Intex’s 33 inches. This choice fits buyers with small yards who need an easy setup and a smaller pool rather than the spacious rectangular area of the Intex 14’9” model.
Bestway Steel Pro MAX 14ft x 48in Round Pool Set
The Bestway Steel Pro MAX 14-foot round pool includes a pool cover and ladder, extras not listed for the Intex 14’9” model. You gain a 48-inch height, offering deeper water than the Intex’s 33-inch wall. The weight is 129 pounds, heavier than the Intex. You trade the rectangular shape for a round one. The StackStone design adds aesthetic detail. This option suits buyers who value included accessories like a cover and ladder. It fits those who prefer round pools and deeper water over the specific rectangular dimensions and shallower depth of the Intex 14’9” pool.
