Who it fits
Good fit for
This shower suits homeowners with concrete patios or wooden decks who want a permanent, no-electricity solution. It is ideal for rinsing off after beach visits, pool sessions, or muddy garden work. The foot tap makes it easy to clean pet paws without bending. If you need reliable warm water without running electricity, this unit provides a stable, multi-outlet setup for your outdoor routine.
Who should skip it
Skip this if you need adjustable height for different users, as the fixed base limits flexibility. It requires direct sunlight to heat water, so it may not work well in cloudy climates. You must have access to a garden hose for water supply, as it does not hold cold water internally. If you prefer a portable unit that does not require drilling into your deck, this freestanding model is not the right choice.
Verdict: This is a sturdy, solar-powered option for permanent outdoor rinsing. It delivers warm water efficiently if you have sun and hose access.
Key specs for this solar shower
Tank Capacity: 15.9 Gallon
This volume holds enough water for several quick rinses. You get a steady flow without frequent refills. It suits families or groups sharing the unit. Compare this capacity to smaller 5-gallon units if you need longer showers. The size balances portability with usable water volume for outdoor routines.
Heating Source: Solar
The tank uses sunlight to warm water, reaching up to 140°F. You pay no electricity for this heat. It works best in direct sun. Compare this to electric heaters that require power sources. Solar heating is eco-friendly but depends on weather conditions for consistent warmth during your outdoor sessions.
Spray Outlets: Top shower head, handheld, foot tap
Three distinct outlets offer versatile cleaning options. The top head covers full bodies. The handheld sprayer targets specific areas. The foot tap cleans sand or mud before entering your home. This multi-outlet design suits various hygiene needs better than single-head units found in basic spas.
Primary Material: PVC
The black PVC tank maximizes thermal absorption. This material is lightweight and durable for outdoor use. It resists corrosion better than some metals. Compare this to metal tanks that may rust. PVC keeps the unit affordable while maintaining structural integrity against sun exposure and weather elements over time.
Water Inlet Type: G1/2 inch inlet, GHT 3/4 inch adapter
This combination ensures compatibility with most garden hoses. The included adapter simplifies connection without extra purchases. You avoid leaks with pre-mounted rubber gaskets. Compare this to units requiring specific hose types. The universal fit makes installation straightforward for any standard outdoor water source.
Design and Build Details
The tank is made from black heavy-duty PVC, which the listing says maximizes thermal absorption for solar heating. This material choice supports the goal of reaching water temperatures up to 140°F using only sunlight. The unit stands on a stable freestanding base that includes four expansion bolts. You can mount it permanently on concrete or wooden decks for windproof stability. The dimensions are 85 inches in length, with a width of 9.06 inches and a height of 10.6 inches. This vertical layout saves horizontal space in your yard while providing ample height for comfortable use.
Water control is handled by an intuitive hot and cold mix valve. You can blend sun-warmed water with cool hose water to reach your preferred temperature. The system features three spray outlets: a 360° swivel top head, a handheld sprayer with a 1.5-meter hose, and a foot tap. The foot tap is built from zinc alloy, which the listing describes as corrosion-resistant and leak-proof. This layout lets you rinse feet before entering your home or clean muddy gear outside.
Connection is handled by a G1/2 inch inlet and a GHT 3/4 inch adapter. Rubber gaskets are pre-mounted at every joint to prevent leaks, and a built-in filter screen blocks debris. A dust cover is included to protect the unit when not in use. The black finish helps absorb heat but may attract dust, making the cover practical for long idle periods. This design suits users who want a durable, fixed outdoor shower solution.
Setup and everyday use details
Setting up this MEIGESI solar shower requires a solid surface. The listing specifies a heavy-duty base with four expansion bolts. You can permanently mount the unit on concrete ground or wooden decks. This method ensures windproof stability and prevents tipping during use. The design supports a freestanding installation that remains secure in outdoor environments. You do not need to worry about the unit shifting when water flows through the tank. Daily operation relies on connecting a standard garden hose. The unit features a built-in G1/2 inch inlet. An included GHT 3/4 inch adapter allows compatibility with most garden hoses. Rubber gaskets are pre-mounted on every joint to prevent leakage. A built-in filter screen inside the adapter keeps dirt and debris out. This protects the system from clogging and ensures smooth water flow. You can adjust the temperature by mixing sun-warmed water from the 15.9-gallon tank with cool hose water. The intuitive Hot and Cold Water Temperature Control lets you reach your ideal warmth without electricity. The shower offers three spray outlets. A 360° swivel top head provides full-body coverage. A handheld sprayer with a 1.5-meter hose allows targeted rinsing. A zinc alloy foot tap lets you rinse sand from your feet before entering your home. This feature helps keep your yard clean. The included dust cover protects the unit from debris and weather damage when not in use. This extends the service life of the shower. The setup is straightforward for anyone with basic tools. The daily routine involves filling the tank, waiting for solar heating, and adjusting the mix valve. You get consistent warm water for bathing pets, cleaning gear, or rinsing off after outdoor activities. The system is designed for practical, efficient outdoor hygiene.
Before You Buy This Solar Shower
You need a standard garden hose to use this unit. The listing confirms it includes a GHT 3/4 inch adapter for most hoses, plus a G1/2 inch inlet. Check your hose connections before ordering. You must mount it securely. Use the included expansion bolts on concrete or wood. Do not place it on unstable ground. Cleaning is simple. Rinse the tank and hoses after each use. Store the dust cover over the unit when not in use to protect it from debris. This model focuses on outdoor rinsing, not spa relaxation. It fits well if you want sun-warmed water for beach gear or pets. It does not replace a heated hot tub. Compare its 15.9-gallon capacity to other options. Smaller units heat faster but hold less water. Larger tanks may take longer to warm in cooler weather. Verify your space allows for the full height and base footprint.
