Who it fits
Good fit for
You should choose this surround if you have a square spa that fits within the 105.5-inch dimensions. It is ideal for homeowners who want a protective barrier against wind and debris without the bulk of a full enclosure. The poly rattan material appeals to those seeking low maintenance, as it does not require painting or sealing. If you prefer a dark, sleek look for your patio, the black finish integrates well with stone or wood decking. It suits users who value practical protection over decorative complexity.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if your hot tub is round or rectangular with different dimensions, as the square 105.5-inch footprint will not fit properly. Do not buy this if you need a fully enclosed structure with a roof, as this surround only covers the sides. Users requiring a lighter unit may find the 79.4-pound weight cumbersome for frequent relocation. If you prefer a natural wood look, the synthetic black poly rattan may not match your aesthetic. This product is not suitable for spas larger than the specified width.
Verdict: This vidaXL surround offers solid protection for square spas with its durable poly rattan construction. It is a practical choice for those needing side coverage that fits standard large hot tubs.
Key specs explained for this unit
Material: Poly Rattan
Poly rattan is a synthetic material designed to mimic natural wicker while resisting moisture and UV damage. You benefit from low maintenance needs, as it does not require sealing or painting like wood. This makes it suitable for outdoor use where weather exposure is common. When shopping, compare this to wood surrounds that need regular upkeep or plastic covers that may look less decorative.
Dimensions: 105.5" x 105.5" x 21.7"
These measurements indicate a large, square footprint with a height of 21.7 inches. The 105.5-inch width and depth provide ample space to enclose standard hot tubs. The height allows for a comfortable seating edge. You should verify your tub's dimensions against these numbers before purchasing. Larger tubs may need custom surrounds, while this size fits many standard models without modification.
Shape: Square
A square shape offers symmetrical coverage around the hot tub. This geometry simplifies installation and aligns well with deck corners or patios. You get uniform protection on all sides. When comparing options, note that rectangular surrounds fit oval tubs better, while round surrounds suit circular spas. The square design is a practical choice for standard rectangular hot tubs.
Color: Black
The black finish provides a modern, neutral look that blends with various deck materials. Dark colors can hide dirt and minor scuffs better than light shades. You may need to wipe it down occasionally to maintain the appearance. When shopping, consider how the color contrasts with your deck. Black offers a sleek aesthetic but may absorb more heat in direct sunlight.
Weight: 79.4 pounds
This weight indicates a substantial structure that stays in place without frequent repositioning. You will need two people to move it safely during installation. The mass helps resist wind displacement. Compare this to lighter plastic covers that may blow away. A heavier surround offers stability but requires more effort to assemble and adjust on your deck.
Design and Build Quality
The vidaXL enclosure is constructed from poly rattan, a synthetic material designed to mimic natural wicker. According to the listing, this material offers strong weather resistance and requires minimal maintenance. You do not need to seal or paint the surface, which simplifies long-term care. The finish is black, providing a sleek and uniform look that complements modern outdoor spaces. This material choice suggests the unit is built to withstand moisture and UV damage without degrading quickly.
The structure features a square shape with dimensions of 105.5 inches by 105.5 inches and a height of 21.7 inches. This generous footprint creates ample space around your hot tub, allowing for comfortable movement and seating. The total weight of the unit is 79.4 pounds. This mass helps keep the surround stable during use, though you will need to manage the weight during assembly. The design prioritizes durability and practicality.
This enclosure suits users who want a sturdy, low-maintenance solution for their spa area. The poly rattan construction ensures longevity in various climates. The square layout maximizes interior space while fitting neatly into standard backyard configurations. You get a functional and attractive barrier for your hot tub. The black color adds a contemporary touch to your outdoor decor. This product is ideal for those seeking a reliable and easy-to-care-for spa surround.
